I sometimes call this Autopoietic Phantom Pop, or in even a more nerdy ambition: Autopoietic Phase Space Phantom Pop. Others may call it Instant Composing or music in the spirit of Free Jazz, without being Jazz (… but may turn into it) or simply pieces, may be ruins. So it’s a process, which finds a beginning and an end, without a plan. The impersonater for this process is Malcom Stalagmite (see attacherd photo (Malcom without a second l, that’d be another story)), who is not necessarily I.
To get this started, going and ending, I found some enabling rules for the audio:
– no recording studio – not more than six words to sing
– walk while singing – no submission to music rules and styles
– the first recording is the best – the first additional sound- / instrument- / chords- / melodies ideas and recordings are the best – any sounds and effects are allowed as long as they inspire and become part of generating and / or supporting the process – feel free not to do it / anything
– send the result to people on mailinglist (risking irritation, ignorance …, even inspiration and enchantment)
– do the next thing (cook, walk, listen to radio, watch tv, read, phone, meet people, sing Sacred Harp, do the dishes …)

I do things with some means I ‘ve got: Instead of erecting architecturally well designed buildings, I become part of an area of selfgenerating ruins, made out of words, music, pictures (secularized triptych) – leaving voids and possibly phase spaces. My ruins are not remnants. May be they are statues appropriating ruins, opening spaces to wander around.
The music, it’s six words, it’s title; the mail text (if there is: it’s title); the picture and it’s title … all part of a momentary biotope being documented in an e-mail.
